David Burke is the Executive Vice President of Sales and Business Development with the Pittsburgh Pirates. In his role, he leads the Partnership, Ticketing, Premium, Events, and Business Intelligence departments. Burke joined the Pirates in December of 2020 from the Kroenke Sports and Entertainment group where he served in the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer. Over the course of his career as a sports business executive, Burke has held leadership positions for organizations such as National Basketball Association, National Hockey League, Major League Soccer, and minor league hockey franchises. His start in professional sports began as a ticket sales representative with the Dallas Stars.
Burke graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communications. He met his wife Emily in Colorado and married in 2017. They have two boys, Cooper (5) and Callahan (3), and now call Wexford home.
