SVP, Marketing and Communications of the New York Mets
David Newman is in his 13th season with the Mets as Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications. He and his department are responsible for the strategic development and management of the Mets’ efforts to engage existing and new fans to drive ticketing, partner and concession revenues. These areas include consumer and business content development through advertising, promotions, broadcasting, digital and social media, creative services, publishing, publicity, events, and in-game entertainment.
Prior to the Mets, Newman was the Managing Director of Marketing & Communications for the United States Tennis Association from 2001-2005. In this role, he led the promotion and publicity efforts for the U.S. Open. Newman’s 35 years of sports and entertainment experience also includes marketing-related positions with NFL Properties, MTV, and Madison Square Garden.
David graduated from Columbia University in 1983 and resides with his wife Lorraine in Manhattan.
