Senior Manager, Corporate Partnerships
Andy Szabo is currently in his third season with the Oakland Athletics (A’s) of MLB as Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships & Hospitality, primarily focused on establishing new marketing, business and community-centric partnerships, while managing a portfolio of 15+ local, regional and global brands.
Prior to Oakland, Szabo spent two years in Chicago with sports marketing agency 4FRONT, where he served as a revenue generator and strategy consultant for various clients including Hendrick Motorsports (NASCAR), the Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA), the Chicago Dogs (Independent Professional Baseball) and the Village of Rosemont (Allstate Arena). Focus areas involved partnership sales, naming rights, international partnership strategy, non-traditional inventory creation and more.
From 2014-16, Szabo received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Sports Administration (MSA) from Ohio University in Athens, OH. During his time in graduate school, he was General Manager of the Southern Ohio Copperheads – a summer collegiate league baseball team – overseeing partnership sales, marketing and game day operations.
Szabo began his sports business career in Chicago as a member of 4FRONT’s Innovation division, collaborating on fan engagement and revenue-generating projects for clients such as Cricket Australia’s Big Bash League, the Chicago Bears (NFL) and the San Antonio Spurs (NBA).
Szabo attended the University of Illinois (UIUC) from 2009-13, where he worked for the Fighting Illini men’s basketball program and received a degree in Sport Management and Leadership Studies.
