A Spooky Good Time with the Frisco RoughRiders
The Frisco RoughRiders gave their fans some sweet treats with no tricks.

Happy Holidays! I’m sure your Halloween candy bowls are empty and you’re ready for a Thanksgiving feast, but we just had to bring you this sweet treat of a story! Keeping fans engaged during the off-season is no easy task, but the RoughRiders were down for the challenge. With arguably the best time of the year approaching (you can fight me on this, but I don’t think I’ll change my mind!), holiday events are a great way to not only spread holiday cheer, but also spread the word about your organization and allow people to come together and celebrate!
On this edition of the Selling It feature, we take a look at how the Frisco RoughRiders provided their community a family fun event during the holiday’s that gave fans their dose of RoughRiders during the off-season. Enjoy!

A Spooky Good Time with the Frisco RoughRiders
It can be hard for a sports team to stay connected with its fans during the off-season. What better way to keep up with fans than a holiday-related event? The Frisco RoughRiders have taken the opportunity to keep up with fans of America’s favorite past time through their “Beer and Boos Fest” initiative; a festival-style event reaches out to all RoughRiders fans. “Beer and Boos Fest” is a staple event of the Minor League ball club’s off-season and is a wonderful way for the RoughRiders to stay engaged with their fans during the off-season!
This year’s “Beer and Boos Fest” took place on October 26th, just a few days before Halloween. This spooky-themed fan engagement opportunity was free to the public and featured an array of Fall festivities and activities, including costumes, pumpkin carving, a petting zoo, and beer (for those 21 and over, of course!). It’s a great way to attract families to the ballpark and is a perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit!
With beer being such a crucial part of the initiative, the RoughRiders searched for the perfect company to team up with. In turn, they partnered up with fellow Texas-based Franconia Brewing Company to brew up something wickedly delicious for their fans. Arvind Sharma, President and CEO of Franconia Brewing Company, discussed the partnership by stating, “Franconia Brewing Company values the great partnership we have built with the Frisco RoughRiders over the past few years; having added a custom RoughRider Red Ale to our product line and the addition of the Biergarten inside the ballpark. When we had the opportunity to team up for their annual Fall Fest event, it was a no brainer. We look forward to continuing to grow our new ‘Beer & Boos Fest’ with the RoughRiders for many years to come.”
“Beer and Boos Fest” has proven to be a home run for the MiLB team. Throughout the years, they have gradually seen an increase in attendance. This year, the ball club had approximately 3,000 fans come out and join in on the Halloween themed fun! While fans were enjoying the Fall fun, they also had the opportunity to purchase and upgrade their season tickets while at Dr Pepper Ballpark for next year’s season.
The Frisco RoughRiders have had continued success with this holiday-oriented event and will be continuing “Beer and Boos Fest” for years to come. The team can stay connected to RoughRiders fans through this fun and festive event that is perfect for fans of all ages. The event brings in revenue for the RoughRiders and pushes sales for the upcoming season, while also allowing fans to enjoy a family fun day out!
