Each year the National Sports Forum features 80+ speakers from a variety of leagues, organizations, agencies and top spokespeople within the sports industry.
Below are the speakers for the 2017 National Sports Forum.
Senior Director of Marketing
Kathy Schwab is heading into her eleventh season with the Milwaukee Brewers, having been named to her role as Senior Director of Marketing in September 2004. Schwab oversees all Brewers consumer marketing, advertising, research, and branding initiatives for the Club.
In 2012, Schwab contributed to the Brewers attendance record of 2,831,385 – fifth largest in franchise history and 11th in all of Major League Baseball. Smallest in market size out of all thirty MLB Clubs, the Brewers have reached three million tickets sold three out of the past five years.
Prior to joining the Brewers, Schwab served as Vice President of Account Services for Zizzo Group Advertising & Public Relations in Milwaukee from 2000-2004 where she was the lead on the Brewers account during the last few years of her tenure. She also held the position of Divisional Vice President, Creative Director for The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. a regional department store chain with corporate offices in York, Pennsylvania and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Today The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. has the following nameplates: Bon-Ton, Boston Store, Bergner’s, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s, Parisian and Younkers with 277 department stores and 10 furniture galleries across 23 states.
Schwab is active in the Milwaukee community as well as nationally through volunteer efforts, advisory boards, and business organizations. In 2006, she was named to The Business Journal’s ‘Forty Under 40’ list, a prestigious honor bestowed upon those who demonstrate leadership and accomplishments in their profession and community.
She has served as the Communications Co-Chair for Milwaukee’s United Way Campaign; currently sits on the Governance and Community Initiatives Committees for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin; volunteers with Vince Lombardi Charitable Funds raising dollars for cancer research; is on the Milwaukee Board of Trustees for the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation; is a member of TEMPO, a leading Milwaukee metro-area business organization for those who have attained distinction in their field; and, serves on the Marketing Advisory Boards for the YMCA of Greater Milwaukee and other organizations throughout the Milwaukee area.
A native of York, Pennsylvania, Schwab played Division III Volleyball and graduated with a degree in English/ Professional Writing and a minor in Business Administration from Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania in 1990. She and her husband, Dick, reside in Fox Point, Wisconsin.
